hi, I have the same issue. I bought a new laptop and still have an SDL Trados 2017 that I would like to use with the new computer. Can anybody help me? thanks

I think I fixed this by deactivating one license myself by logging into my pages on trados.com/products and deactivate one licence and activate it on my new computer. Or helpdesk reset it for me, I don't remember to be honest. I also received a tips to check this link with further instructions: https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001383

hi, thanks. I managed to deactivate the license in the old computer, but I don't know what comes next... should I receive a new activation authorization? I had received a deactivation authorization via email, that I used to deactivate the license. Now I suppose I will have to wait for new instructions... I downloaded 2017 version in the meantime, which is running as a trial version... should I do anything different?

Normally you would check your licences.  In your case you'll see this:
