How do I import or create 2015 Trados Multitermbase files to 2022 Trados Multitermbase

Dear Community,

Hello,

Since my pc got broken and I found out that my 2015 Trados studio can't transfer to my new PC, I purchased and installed 2022 Trados to my computer. Even after removing old termbase application and installing New Multi Termbase, the old green logos of 2015 version of Multiterm base files are still on the desk top and can't open with the new termbase application?

Could any one kindly tell me how to convert 2015 termbase files to 2022 version and I can use them as I used before?

Best,

Aki

  • Hello Paul,

    Thank you very much for your kind reply.

    My exact situation is as follows;

    When I got a new PC, I tried to transfer Trados Studio 2015 and Multitermbase to my new PC. At the same time, I copied Termbase files to my new PC.

    However, in the half way, help desk and I found that it was impossible.

    So I purchased and installed Trados Studio 2022 and Multitermbase to my new PC.

    However, even after installing them, my Termbase files icons on the monitor were still remained the same with the old version. Screenshot showing Trados Studio 2015 Termbase file icon with a red error overlay indicating incompatibility.

    When I click the icon, the multitermbase of 2015 version opens after some error messages and no terms are shown,

    Even I click the icon of  Multitermbase of 2022 version, nothing happens either.

    That's all.

    Maybe I need to do some conversion?

    Any follow up advise is much appreciated.
