Changing PCs

Hello,

I am changing to a new laptop. How do we transfer the app and the old projects.

Are we allowed to have two installations? Things like that compose my question.

How do we transfer the app and the old projects.

This wiki should explain how you manage the transfer of the licence:  04.8 How to transfer my existing license to a new computer?

To move projects... essentially the easiest way is to make sure that you have the same folder structure and paths on your new computer as you do on your old, and then you can simply copy the projects from the default project folder to the new machine.  The projects.xml may also work if the paths are all the same on both computers.

If the paths are different it's still no problem, you just copy all your projects into the folder you intend to keep them and open the sdlproj for each one to add them back into your Studio list and fix any incorrect references to TMs and other resources by selecting them from the new location.  So a bit of a manual process but you shouldn't need to do them all... just open them when you need them.

Are we allowed to have two installations?

You can have as many installations as you wish.  But depending on your licence you can probably have one licenced and working at a time.
