"Reached the maximum allowed concurrent activations '1'..." error

Hello community members,

I'd like to report a bug in Trados Studio 2022 that has persisted for a long time with each new update.

I have been using Trados Studio 2022 for almost a year. I always update to the latest available version. I have a subscription-based single-user license. I only have the program installed on one computer and only use it on that computer. I don't even use the online editor. In the beginning I had a Win 10 system, and for some time now I have Win 11.

Since the very beginning of using Trados Studio 2022, every now and then the program throws an error "Reached the maximum allowed concurrent activations '1'..." and crashes (closes), although I always have the program open on only one computer and only on one computer I have Trados Studio installed. I have never run more than one instance of the program, and the error appears while I am working, or when I return to the running program after some break (I leave the program window open). There is no regularity in the occurrence of the error. Sometimes it appears more often, sometimes it is quiet for a long time, but there is definitely some error in the program code.

Error dialog box from Trados Studio 2022 displaying message: Reached the maximum allowed concurrent activations '1' for your subscription. Deactivate other Studio instances or consider upgrading your subscription.

Kind Regards,

Lech Lachowski

  • Hello

Thank you for the information. I had already checked this issue when I swapped computers some time ago and had to delete the old one to add a new one. However, this is not the cause of this error because I have never had Trados Studio installed on more than one computer at a time and have never used the online editor. At the moment it looks like this on my account:

Trados account management page showing one registered device, a desktop PC, with a green dot indicating it is online. A warning message 'Reached the maximum allowed' is visible at the top.

This error pops up every so often since the very beginning, since I've been using Trados Studio 2022. I suspect a bug in the software.

I will inform in this post when the error pops up once again.

    Kind Regards,

    Lech
