MY PC crashed last Thursday, and I had to replace the hard drive before I could deactivate my Studio 2021 license.
Now, after reinstalling Studio 2021, I've been running around in circles in the online help with no success all week-end.
How come it is so difficult to manage my paid licence? Can you help?

What did you actually try in addition to running around in circles? Did you try resetting your own license by using the Self Service option in your RWS account for Trados Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Use this KB article ( gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge ) and follow the instructions.
If you tried this and still cannot do it then we can raise a case to help you, but self-service is always faster!

Dear Paul,
There is no "reset license" option for my current license. My account shows that I have one available activation remaining (for emergency situations like this one, apparently), but when I enter the activation code, I get an "activation failed" error message from Studio saying it cannot connect to the activation server.
I don't have a "reset license" option for Studio 2021 (nor for Studio 2017). I have a reset license for Trados 2007/2011).
Will resetting 2007 help with this 2021 issue?
Or should I submit a case here?

ok - I just checked your account and the reason you don't have the reset is because you still have a licence left to activate:
If you want to retain that one so you'll still have a spare available, and wish to reset the one you forgot, then we'll need to log a support case. But in the meantime you should be able to use that same code and activate the software successfully.

I have tried activating the extra licence with that same code, but I get this:
So it seems that I cannot use the spare either.
Unfortunately, I haven't found any answer in the knowledge base for that specific message.
Does the problem lie with my instance of Studio? Do I need to connect it somehow?
My Internet connection is ok, and I get the same error message, whether I am logged in or not in Studio.
