multiple problems on first attempted use on domain-joined laptop: first with Default Project file and then with "Failed to add window command bar extensions"

Question

I installed Studio last week but did not open it, as I was working on building my TermBase first. 
 Today, on opening, it did open. I then wished to create a new project, but it gave a message about the Default file of some kind. The RWS help community said to delete the Default file, so I did that. (Instructions I followed: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0030427 .) 
 Then, when I tried to open Studio, it would not open and gives me this message: "Failed to add window command bar extensions". 
 Again, I followed multiple RWS help community advice to no avail ( https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0033669 .

 Help! I am used to using the Freelance version at home, but am having no success installing this enterprise version at work.
