But as far as I know the license was forever, so what can I do if I need the program? Do I need to buy again another license?

But as far as I know the license was forever
It is forever for you, but we cannot support it forever. At some point it became impossible to maintain the old licensing system so after running multiple licensing systems for some years after support ended it became no longer possible.
So you have the right to keep using the product for as long as you are able to support it on your own computer. But we are no longer able to support you with this version if you lose it.
Do I need to buy again another license?
If you want to keep using Trados then yes. It will also have to be the current version of Trados Studio.

Your number may well be in your account. But it won't help because the licensing mechanism for software this old will not work anymore. If you're software is running today it will continue to work. But if you try to move to a new PC or lose the licence I'm afraid that's it.
Your only solution to work with Trados today is to purchase a new licence for the current version of Studio.
