Passolo 2022 cannot been activated with error message - Could not check out computer feature AllowDatabase. Error ID: 210251.

Recently we experienced one issue in below scenario -


1. Borrowed the License from License server to activate the Passolo 2022.
2. The Lincense were not returned timely for some reason.
3. Passolo cannot be activated after re-connect the License server.


The solution we have tried -

1.Open reg editor to update then entry HKEY_USERS\.\SOFTWARE\Trados\Passlo 2022\Lincense\UseBorrowedLicense from True to False.
2.Passolo still cannot be activated after re-connect the License server with error message "Could not check out computer feature AllowDatabase. Error ID: 210251"

Could anyone help and propose any idea to fix?

    Hello  

    Try to start Passolo as administrator to see if it makes any difference. If not, please go on the licensing server > open Safenet License Manager (WlmAdmin) > expand Subnet Servers > expand your server name > expand one of the Passolo features > expand Clients folder > check if the user who borrowed the license is listed there > click on it and send me a screenshot.

    The moment I received your feedback, this issue not reproduced, and the engineer could activate the license in next day after the issue happened.

     

    More details for your reference -

     

    1.This issue happened several times in previous days after we migrate from Passolo 2018 to Passolo 2022.

    2.We didn't encounter this issue in Passolo 2018, in Passolo 2018 after the borrowed license expired, engineer still can reconnect to the license server to activate the Passolo 2018.

    3.It looks there is some issue relative to the license management from SDL server side for 2022, for some reason the License cannot be release completely from server side, it took more than 1 day to completely release the borrowed license.

    4.We expected there will be a solution to fix this issue from root side completely, or a workable workaround for the engineers to perform from client side to ensure the license can be activated immediately rather than wait one day ,it impacts the production significantly.
