Can't sign into my account or use the language cloud MT with my 2017 license

Hello,

I have a license for the following product: SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 CU15

I downloaded the desktop app and opened the activation wizard but for some reason I couldn't activate the license online so I did it offline, which made no sense because I was actually online. Then I tried to sign into my account from the app to use the cloud and I couldn't. I did everything suggested in forums but nothing worked. I was unable to sign in. However, one of the multiple times I closed and opened the app, by magic, I was signed in, so I tried using the LC MT translation but I got an error message. (see below)

I've already:

  • reset my license
  • updated to the latest version of trados and multiterm available for 2017 licenses
  • made sure I have cgìharacters available (all!) for the free MT service

So, I have 3 problems:

  1. I can only activate and deactivate my license offline even if I'm connected to stable, powerful Internet. (see attached screenshot)
  2. I can't sign into my account from the desktop
  3. I can't use Language Cloud Machine Translation. (see attached screenshot)

Error message in Trados Studio activation wizard: 'Activation failed. Unable to connect to the activation server. Check the server address in the provider settings. - Request canceled: Unable to create a secure SSLTLS channel.'

Trados Studio error log showing 1 error: 'An error has occurred while using the translation provider SDL Language Cloud Machine Translation: Language Cloud engine not found.'
