Trados Group Share updating and upgrading

Hello dear Trados team, I just wanted to ask you a couple of question regarding to licencing and installation.

1. Can we can install updates for Trados GroupShare if we do not have a support contract (SMA)?

2. In order to upgrade the Trados GroupShare product, Do we need to have a support contract (SMA)?

In case we need a SMA how does it work? I mean what are the steps if we have never had a SMA?

    Thank you for raising these questions in the Trados GroupShare forums.

    You can install Cumulative Updates for your Trados GroupShare instance. But, in case issues occur and without having an active SMA contract, we will not be able to help you.
    In case you want to upgrade your Trados GroupShare instance (2017 to 2020), that is only possible via our Professional Services team.
    Both of the above - an SMA contract and the Trados GroupShare upgrade procedure - are requests that need to be passed to your RWS Sales Representative. You can check in your RWS Account (www.rws.com) - Account - Orders section. From there you should be able to find out who is your RWS Sales Representative.
