Changed name of the computer and now it's asking me for the activation code which doesn't work.

I installed Studio 2015 on my PC, but later it was necessary to reinstall the system and we changed the name of the computer. Now SDL thinks I'm trying to install Trados on a different computer. I can't deactivate the old license because the deactivate button won't appear, and Trados keeps asking me for the activation code and when I put it in it says it's already in use. What should I do?

  • Hi Christopher,

    I hope you have this sorted already, but if not please log a case throough the solution finder to have your license reset so you can apply it again.  The guys are very fast!  Go to the Knowledgebase;

    http://kb.sdl.com

    Then go to the tab called Solution Finder  ( http://kb.sdl.com/?cid=23&tab=sf ) and now go here;

    Licensing Problems

    - I use SDL Trados Studio 2015 / SDL Passolo 2015

    -- I need to have my license reset

    Pick the correct route for you and if appropriate you will be presented with a form that you can fill in to generate a support request and you will be contacted, normally within a day.

    Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form, and make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

    I hope this helps.
