To process the upgrade from your 2019 version to the 2022 one please follow the below steps

1. Log in into your RWS account

2. Click on Products&Plans - Licenses

3. Click on the blue ribbon that holds the message 'You have 1 upgrade available'

4. On the page that appears click on Upgrade button again

5. Once all done return to licenses tab where the 2022 license code will appear.

PLEASE NOTE:

When upgrading, SDL allow you to continue using your previous version under certain criteria*** - allowing a smooth migration process to the latest version.

If you wish to keep the previous (2019) FREELANCE license on the same machine as Studio 2022 or on a separate one -

PLEASE DO NOT deactivate the actual license in Studio-

Only process the upgrade in your RWS account. A deactivated license cannot be reset!

You may continue to use the legacy version until-

-you attempt to migrate the software to a new PC/ cloud storage etc.

-deactivate the license (intentionally or by mistake)

-upgrade your OS

-reformat your hard drive

Please note that all your work in Trados Studio is saved locally on your PC. You will need to transfer your files from your old PC to a new one, simply copy and move them over. Once Trados Studio is activated on your new PC, you can easily upload your files again.
