Activating Trados Studio 2024 after returning Trados Studio 2022 license does not reactivate Studio 2022

We have two computers with Trados Studio 2022 Professional. We have two single user licenses and have purchased an upgrade to Trados Studio 2024 Professional. After downloading the 2024 installer, the following happened:

  • On the first computer, after installing Version 2024:

    - I returned the 2022 license, then upgraded the 2022 license to the new version on our RWS Account's "Licenses and Subscriptions" page.
    - I started Studio 2024 and activated it with the new activation code.
    - Once Studio 2024 was activated, I run Studio 2022, which was now active again with the 2024 license code.
    - The Studio 2022's Product activation dialog shows the following message: "This product is activated with an upgrade license. The license is maintained as long as Trados Studio 2024 is licensed on this machine."
  • I have followed the same process to upgrade Trados Studio on the second computer. However, when I try to run Studio 2022, the Product Activation dialog is displayed, asking me to activate the product. Even if I enter the Studio 2024 activation code, I get the following error:

    Invalid Product Key. Make sure the Product Key belongs to the intended product or product version.
    Error ID: 82778310
    Open connection settings?

    And I am unable to run Studio 2022 alongside Studio 2024 on the second computer.

    according to https://gateway.sdl.com/articles/en_US/SolutionArticles/000001319#2022, we should be able to run both versions on both machines, since they are two separate single user licenses. Since we work for a client who has custom file types that have not been upgraded to 2024, we need to run both versions.
