I installed Studio 2024 and got an error message – the KB solutions aren’t available for Studio 2024

Windows 11, latest update.

I upgraded to Studio 2024 and installed it. On trying to launch I get error messages about unsigned plug-ins. If I install them, I get the error message “Failed to add window command bar extension". The knowledge base has solutions for Studio versions up to and including Studio 2022, but nothing for Studio 2024.Error dialog titled 'Unsigned Trados Studio Plug-in Found' warning that an unsigned plug-in 'LanguageWeaverProvider.plugin.xml' wants to load, with options to load or not load the plug-in.

  • At first, Studio 2024 froze in the launch (Initializing views). I killed it with Task Manager and relaunched with “Run as Administrator”. This demanded an activation code (Permanent licences) and I’m already shown as having used up both my Pro+ licences, since I’ve gone this route a couple of times and entereed my activation code) and “Subscriptions” shows my as in the trial period.

Moving on from that hurdle (which is already a problem), I’m not shown as having any plug-ins installed. In any case, the warning (see image above) is apparently for a third-party plug-in, and isn’t showing in the RWS Appstore.
