Term recognition doesn't work

I recently purchased Trados Studio 2022/2024 Freelance and installed the programs on a new computer running Windows 11. Term recognition doesn't work. I found lots of discussion about the issue and tried the suggested solutions (e.g., repairing, changing the name of folder). Nothing has helped. I also installed the 2019 version, which works on my old laptop, but not on my new computer. Has a solution has been found in the meantime?

  • Hi,

I have the latest versions of Studio 2022 and Multiterm installed on a computer running Windows 11, and only manual term search works in Studio, Term recognition hangs in "Searching for terms...".

This is the same both for Groupshare projects (from RWS Sweden!) as for local project packages from other clients, with local Multiterm termbases.

Trying to run "Verify" only returns this error message:

”Failed to verify document: It is impossible to convert COM-objects of the type Sdl.Multiterm.TermRecognition.Interop.TreMatchesClass to interfaces of the type Sdl.Multiterm.TermRecognition.Interop.ITreMatches. This operation failed since the QueryInterface-call in the COM-component for the interface with IID [xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} failed due to the following error: The interface is not supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).”

I'm not a programmer, so I don't dare change folder names or such like, and I find it very irritating that a program suite that I paid about EUR 1000 for doesn't work as advertised, due to no fault of mine (they both worked earlier after installation), and I depend on this for my livelihood and my productivity drops quite significantly due to this.

The only thing I can think of is that I've installed Windows 11 recently, after much nagging from Microsoft about ceasing support for Windows 10. Please fix this issue A.S.A.P.
