Clarification on License Activation and Transition Process for Trados Studio Upgrade (from 2021 to 2024, both professional and Workgroup)

Hi,

We have purchased multiple upgrade licenses for Trados Studio as follows:

  • 5 upgrades from Trados Studio 2021 Professional (Network) to Trados Studio 2024 Professional (Network).
  • 10 upgrades from Trados Studio 2021 Workgroup (Network) to Trados Studio 2024 Professional (Network).

So far, we have installed Trados Studio 2024 on one computer, but we are encountering issues with the license activation. Since uninstalling the old version and installing the new one is time-consuming, we plan to do this in batches or whenever possible on each machine.

I have two questions regarding the transition:

  1. Is it possible to run both the 2021 and 2024 versions on different computers during the transition, or do we need to completely uninstall the previous version, deactivate its license, and then activate the new one on each machine?

  2. Can we install the new version on our server without it interfering with the current version that’s still in use, or will this cause issues with the existing installation?
