You cannot upgrade to/from a subscription. Also, there is no license with 2 activations, as we discontinued Freelance Plus. With both the Freelance subscription and the license you have one desktop activation and one cloud activation, via browser https://languagecloud.sdl.com/ if interested in purchasing a license, you could ask for a refund at trados[at]rws.com until the 13th of October, at the latest.

OK. Now that my subscription is up and running, which can accommodate only one user - what are my options if I need to have Trados for two users on 2 different laptops?
Is it better to buy another subscription for the 2nd user?
Please advise.

If the second user is another person, then yes, he/she should buy a separate subscription/license.
If not, you can use the desktop version on one PC and the cloud version https://languagecloud.sdl.com/ on the other PC. Please note that these versions do not synchronize automatically, you would have to use the button "send to cloud/desktop". Please also note that with the cloud version you cannot use Multiterm, the apps, server-based TMs or open packages (sdlppx files) directly from it.

Hi Elisa, Can I ask you another question? Can I switch my separation from one laptop to another? I am currently travelling and would like to use the subscription on another laptop and then when I am back to be able to switch it back to the original laptop.

Yes, you can move your Subscription to another PC, just take into account that if you encounter an error message you have to follow these steps:

Also, note that all your projects and documents are saved locally and you will need to transfer them to your new PC manually. Trados Studio does not work as a file depository.
