Trados Studio 2024 does not launch after installing

I was running the trial version of Trados Studio 2024 while some issues with my subscription were being resolved. This is now OK, but subsequently I am unable to launch Trados. 

When clicking on shortcut or directly in application location, it fails to load. It starts to show the start-up screens and when it gets to "creating application window" it disappears and does not open.

I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing. 

I had downloaded the Language Weaver plug in and have now deleted it, as this was suggested in someone else's thread. 

I have raised the case with Gateway, but am posting here in case anyone has a solution over the weekend and I can catch up on time lost on my projects.
