Unable to Transfer 2021 Trados Licence and TM Data to New PC – Forced Upgrade to Trados 2024

I had a still valid 2021 licence. I had to buy a new PC. Impossible to transfer my licence correctly on the new machine. So I had to update to Trados 2024. I bought Windows 11 pro as well. Impossible to find and/or transfer my several years' long collected memories. Everything is lost. And so RWS attack the core of Trados. Why buy it? I have to retranslate everything. The Trados idea was I would never have to do this. So why not work again without Trados? Translators will start to think like me.

Is your old PC still accessible?

If so, do as Paul recommends and search there for all *.sdltm and *.sdltb files. Copy these to exactly the same location (folder path) on your new PC. You can also search for *.sdlxliff files and copy these including the containing folder structure to your new PC. This way you should be able to work there the same way as on your old PC. Keeping the same folder structure on new PC will make your life easier, as you will be able to rely on your habits.
