Studio 2024 disappears/crashes during opening process

Trados Studio 2024  (v.18.0.1.2259) fails to open or crashes during opening process. I'm not 100% sure if this is about a new plugin. Every attemps of restarting the program failed during initial process (the Studio window just disappears). There was NO error messages during process.

Here are the things I tried/did to get the program to start.

1 - Closed all active instances of Trados in Task Manager
2 - Launch a repair of Trados 2024 in the configuration pannel, then Restarted. STILL NOT WORKING
3 - Tried the same in ADMIN and USER accounts. Program did start but my work was done on a User session and was not there. Tried to import the work. Failed and crashed. STILL NOT WORKING
4 - Renamed the Plugin folder in all locations (Trados was closed) STILL NOT WORKING
5 - Uninstalled the program. Restart computer.
6 - Reinstalled it - during the initializing process, the program failed again. STILL NOT WORKING
7 - Removed Plugin Installer. Restart. STILL NOT WORKING

Thank you for any tips regarding this problem so I can work again.

If your Studio did start in your admin account, but fails to do so in your user account, it seems the installation is not completed properly. So I'd give it another try:

    • Uninstall Trados Studio
    • Remove this folder completely: C:\Users\Your_username\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio
    • Remove this folder completely: C:\Users\Your_username\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio
    • From this location: C:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio remove the folder 18. DO NOT remove the folder Studio18
    • Remove all subfolder from here C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\Trados Studio
    • Restart your PC
    • Locate the installation file, right click it and chose "Run as admin" (might sound slightly different, my Windows is in German)

This should clean install your program and allow it to start.

    Hello Jerzy,

I have done all this twice already. I have Studio 2024 Pro.

Once I ran the "reinstall’ as admin, I could see my files, but I no longer had access to the Worldserver plug-in (I export packages from WS). I tried to reinstall the plug-in. Of course, for this I must sign into my Cloud account. But when I try to do sign in, I get the loading circle of doom and it won’t sign me in. Then the whole Studio program freezes and once it does, my only option is to go through the whole uninstall/reinstall/freeze cycle again.

I bought this license in August last year, my support is over but I urgently need to work?

    What should I do?

    Josie
