Licence and activation 2021, 2022 and 2024

Starting with a 2021 licence, I purchased a 2022 licence a few months ago, which also included 2024. The price was affordable.
However, when I tried to install 2022 (and a proprietary plug-in that was essential to me), I could never use it because I always got an error.
I therefore always used 2021 with the intention of being able to use 2024 later. I have now upgraded my licence to 2024 (which is currently the only licence that appears available in my profile) but I have not yet installed it while waiting for my client to create the respective plug-in.
When I install it, will mine be considered an upgrade from 2021 (and therefore I will have to use the 30-day trial licence of 2024 to try both versions)?

  • Hi

First of all, you did not purchase a 2022 license, you purchased an upgrade from Trados 2021 to Trados 2022. Then, when we launched Trados 2024, you received an upgrade from Trados 2022 to Trados 2024. What do you mean by both versions? You upgraded to Trados 2024, so your license rights only extend upon Trados 2024. Trados 2021 is not usable at this point. You can install Trados 2022 alongside Trados 2024. Trados 2022 will continue to work as long as it is installed on the same PC as Trados 2024.

Is the plugin you mentioned not part of the RWS Appstore? If so, we cannot guarantee its functioning, since it's been created by your client.

    Kind regards,
