Trados 2024 crashes after 18.03.3255 upgrade installation

Same like here, but with the version 03.

There was a notification (red bell) saying that a new version is ready to install. I decided to give it a go, after my recent total crash on DeepL (again, never ending story). I thought the new version would solve the DeepL plugIn problem.

Unfortunately, instead of solving the problem, Trados disappeared completely. I can't open any previously saved translation memory (I'm guessing it's because the upgrade installation deleted 0.2 version and nothing works.).

My DeepL persistent problem that started as soon as I upgraded Trados 2019 to 2024 has not been solved since Wednesday and no one is responding to my query.

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more details about the error message you received when Trados Studio crashed, and specify the operating system you are using. Also, let us know if you have tried any troubleshooting steps already.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Trados Studio 2024 after the upgrade. Based on your description, it seems like the problem might be related to the DeepL plugin or the upgrade process itself.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check for any pending updates on your Windows system. You can do this by typing "Check for Updates" in the Start button search window and installing any updates found. Restart your computer and repeat until there are no other updates.

Step 2: Try repairing your Trados Studio installation. You can find instructions on how to do this in the article "Repairing your installation of Trados Studio".

Step 3: Ensure that you have the .NET Framework 4.7.2 (or later) installed. If you're using Studio 2021, you'll need 4.8! You can check which .NET Framework versions are installed on your system by following the instructions in this article: "How to: Determine which .NET Framework versions are installed".

Step 4: Refresh your .NET Framework installation. You can do this by typing "Turn Windows features on or off" in the Start button search window. Un-tick the .NET 4.5 (or higher) version, restart your computer, and then tick back the box for .NET 4.5 (or higher) after the restart.

If the issue persists, it might be due to a corrupted Translation Memory (TM) or Termbase. You can check this by disabling the TMs and Termbases one by one in the Project Settings and see if the crash still occurs. If it doesn't, the disabled TM or Termbase might be corrupted and needs to be recreated.
