Antivirus blocking latest update

Hi, I am trying to update my Trados Studio 2022 to the latest release, but my antivirus pops up stating the file is infected with 'IDP.Generic'.

Could someone please assist? I am feeling very uneasy about this.

Avast antivirus notification window showing a blocked threat. The message states that 'TradosStudio2022SR2_17.2.12.19...' was blocked because it was infected with 'IDP.Generic'. Two options are presented: 'Move to quarantine' and 'More options'.

The IDP.Generic tag is a generic heuristic detection and not necessarily a sign of infection.  Ensuring your update was obtained from the official RWS source is key to ensuring your safety.  If you did this through Trados Studio and allowed the software to handle this then you should have no worries.  If you downloaded the software from somewhere other than your RWS Account, or through Trados Studio itself, then you have something to be uneasy about.

Best way to check the installers integrity is this:

    • Right-click the installer file.
    • Go to Properties → Digital Signatures. Ensure the signature is valid and from SDL Limited... like this:
