Alternating use of the license between desktop and laptop

Hi, is it no longer possible to use a license alternately between desktop and laptop without having to deactivate/activate the license from the account page? It seems to me that in the past it was possible. Obviously not using them both at the same time.
I have a perpetual license for Trados 2024.

    You might be referring to the Plus edition for Trados Studio Freelance - which allows a user to activate a license on two devices. However, this edition was discontinued, and we only sell the upgrade from a Plus to a Plus edition.

    Otherwise, you can only use Trados on different devices if you activate and deactivate the license from Trados - going on Help - Product activation, but that is not something to be done too often, as it may cause issues with the activation/deactivation of the software and you might end up resetting it too often (you only have 3 manual license resets/year from your RWS account).

    Since you have the Trados 2024 - you also have the Cloud component, and you can use that from any browser, on a different computer from where the desktop is installed.

    The Trados Cloud component allows you to access the program through any browser. The features are almost the same with the desktop version, the limitations of the Cloud version are the following:

    - you cannot use the apps

    - you cannot use server-based TMs

    - you cannot open project packages
