deactivation

Hi, I am trying to move Trados to another computer so I wanted to disactivate the licence first and activate again on the new computer. The message is: Deactivation filed. Could not connect to the activation server address in the provider setting. Error 403. Forbidden.

Another strange thing is I use Trados on two computers, but the webpage says I have 1 licence for 1 user...

Do you know how to contact Customer service to explain the issue?

    I have verified your account and you have a Trados Studio Freelance Plus 2019. This means you can activate the software on two computers.

    Currently, both your activations are In Use:

    You can reset one of the activations - you just need to know approximately when you activated them and reset the one that you tried and could not Deactivate from Trados. Here is how:

    Wait for the confirmation that the license was reset, allow about 30 minutes to pass, and then try Activating it on the new computer.

  • Hi, I watched a film on Youtube, but, again, when I wanted to Generate Certificate I got a message: Failed to deactivate offline. The specified deactivation authorization may not be validated. Validate your authorization against the authorization in your SDL account. And the film has not provided for such a situation... What should I do? Thanks

    Did you try resetting the license from your RWS account, Products and Plans - Licenses?

  • Hi, I reset the license (and according to the info on the webpage I should have it available after about 30 minutes). 24 hours later it is still not available. What now? I have not expected changing laptops to be so complicated!

    Sorry for the late answer. You have Trados 2019 Freelance Plus and have reset one of the two available activations. Your activation code is in your account, Products and Plans - Licenses: https://oos.sdl.com/asp/products/ssl/account/mylicenses/licenses.aspx We do not change your activation code every time you change your PC, if this is what you expected it would happen. 

    If you encounter any activation issues, please let us know and we will submit a case with our technical team for you.

  • Hi, thanks for the answer. Nothing works and I am totally lost. To sum up:

    1. I wanted to instal Trados on my new laptop.

    2. I tried to disactivate the license (online - failed; offline - filed).

    3. I was asked to reset the license. I followed the video tutorial ( I was supposed to wait 30 minutes to see the license available again. Now I still see only 1 license. 

    3. I tried to disactivate the license again (online and offline - both filed), so I tried to activate Trados on the new lapton - refused. 

    4. Where is the error?

    The process is very straightforward. I am confused as to which steps you are following.

    You have a 2019 Freelance Plus license, which is a license with two activations. As confirmed earlier, you reset (meaning deactivated) one of the activations and you can now activate on the new laptop.

    1. Did you install Trados 2019 on the new laptop or not?

    2. You successfully deactivated one of your two activations, as you can see in the Licenses section. The extra activation is available. The activation code is in the same Licenses section.

    3. The same answer as for 2. To reset is the same as to deactivate.

    4. You cannot deactivate twice, unless you want to also deactivate the other activation you are using.

    5. so I tried to activate Trados on the new laptop - refused.  What do you mean by refused? If you get an activation error, please let us know and we will submit a case with our technical team for you.

  • Thank you for the explanations. Trados is already installed on my new laptop. When I try to activate it and enter the code, all I get is the following message: Activation failed. could not connect to the activation server. Check the activation server address in provider settings. The remote server returned an error. (403) forbidden
