Thanks for explaining the situation clearly. Based on what you described and the error message you shared, here's what's happening:

• Trados Studio 2022 and 2024 are treated as different product versions.

• When you upgraded from 2022 to 2024, your old 2022 license was deactivated for future use and replaced by the 2024 license.

• The 2024 activation code only works with  2024. It cannot be used to reactivate 2022 anymore — that's why you're getting this "Invalid Product Key" error.

Unfortunately, you cannot re-activate 2022 using your 2024 license.

Thank you for your reply. You explain why things don't work. It would be advantageous for all that you tell me HOW to get things running.

1. I tried to deactivate 2024. It doesn't work although the Internet connection works fine and I even disconnected the VPN

2. I tried the offline deactivation. I got the Deactivation authorisation from my account, followed instructions and am still stuck.

Things are very basic: I paid to be able to fall back on 2022 from 2024 because of the bug in the last February 2024 Build and also because it's very sluggish.

Once you process the upgrade to Trados 2024, your license rights extend only upon Trados 2024. We cannot guarantee the long term functioning of Trados 2022. That being said, you should still be able to use Trados 2022 as long as it is installed on the same PC as Trados 2024. You cannot activate Trados 2022, you simply install it and it should run without requiring activation.
