Hello ,
My Trados Studio Freelance 12-month subscription shows as Active. successfully logged in with my subscription account. However, the application still detects my old perpetual license as “expired” and immediately exits with this error:
“The product license has been deactivated and Trados Studio will now exit. To start Trados Studio again, you must activate the product.”
Details:
Product: Trados Studio Freelance – 12-month subscription
Subscription Status: Active
Error Message: “The product license has been deactivated and Trados Studio will now exit…”
Steps I’ve Tried:
Terminated all Trados Studio processes via Task Manager
Deleted LanguageCloudMachineTranslation.bin and LanguageCloud.bin from %APPDATA%\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio17
Renamed %LOCALAPPDATA%\Trados, %APPDATA%\Trados, and %PROGRAMDATA%\Trados folders by adding an _OLD suffix
Cleared the license cache at %APPDATA%\RWS\SDL Trados Studio\Studio17\License\SLA
Relaunched Studio and attempted activation via Help → Product Activation
Despite these steps, Studio still closes immediately with the “expired” message. I have attached screenshots of the error dialog and folder listings.
Additional Issue:
Previously, even though I was logged in with my subscription account, Trados Studio kept prompting me to activate the product. I clicked “Start Trial,” but once the trial expired, Studio now closes immediately unless I activate the product.
Could you please advise how to completely clear the old license information and successfully activate my subscription?
Thank you for your assistance.
I have attached the edited screenshot.
