TradosStudio2024CU2_18.0.2.3255 does not start up

Trados does not load, I have tried repair, uninstall, clean install, reinstall, restarting my computer, returning the licence, resetting the licence. The screen disappears when it tries to load user settings. As if it never started up. I have windows 11 latest version. I have tried to contact the company but there no longer seems to be an option to ask direct questions except this forum.

Any thoughts? It is very annoying not knowing why this issue suddenly occurred. This is a critical tool for me.

Thanks for your help

  • This solution does not work. I then deinstalled Trados again, deleted all files, reinstalled Trados, received a message installation successful, again, tried to start up Trados, got to the screen accept licence agreement, install default profile: TRADOS DOES NOT LOAD.

Do a clean reinstall and if this doesn't help we can ask technical support to help.  Note that they will do anyway so you might as well give it a try first.

    Clean install... try the following.

    1. Uninstall Studio
    2. Uninstall MultiTerm

Now manually delete these folders if they are still there (back up your TMs, Termbases, AutoSuggest Dictionaries and Projects first in case you make a mistake):

    c:\ProgramData\Package Cache\Trados\TradosStudio2024\
    c:\ProgramData\Package Cache\Trados\MultiTermDesktop2024\
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio18\
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\MultiTerm\MultiTerm18\
    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\18\
    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio18\
    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Trados\MultiTerm\MultiTerm18\
    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\18\
    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio18\
    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\MultiTerm\MultiTerm18\
    c:\Users\%username%\Documents\Studio 2024\Project Templates\
    c:\Users\%username%\Documents\Studio 2024\Projects\projects.xml

I think that's about it for a clean install. Then reinstall.
