Cannot activate SDL Trados Studio 2017 with Extra activation.

Question

I have a SDL Trados Studio 2017 Freelance Plus license. I use SDL Trados Studio 2017 Freelance on my main PC. I bought a new laptop last week, and I tried to activate SDL Trados Studio 2017 with the Extra activation code I have on my new laptop. I could not activate it. I received the following error message: 
 Activation failed. The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel. Here is a screenshot of the error message:

 I should be able to activate it on my new laptop using the same license code. Why does the extra activation not work? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
