I am experiencing difficulties connecting to the license server for activation.
Our translation team consists of four members, and we are using a single license that allows only one user at a time.
Recently, when attempting to use Trados, I encountered an activation error stating, "Could not connect to the license server."
Objective: to activate Trados.
Environment: We have an internet connection. one Perpetual license, and our team of four shares that license.
Version: Trados Studio 2022 Professional (Network SN)
Current Situation: None of the team members can activate Trados.
Actions Taken:
- have attempted activation using the activation code (got the message "Invalid product key. Make sure that the product key belongs to the intended product or product version. (Error ID: 82778310).
- have attempted activation using the license server (receive the message "Could not connect to the license server (Error ID: 210005).
- have also verified the version of Trados (by reffering RWS account and we only have one license).
- have checked the Trados folder in the registry editor.
- have tried offline activation (We looked into offline activation by referring to the help page and going to Products & Plans > Licenses in My RWS account, but "Can't activate online? - Get an offline Activation Certificate" did not appear next to the activation code.
- have tried offline activation using license manager (but when I insert activation code, chose quantity to activate, and press activate, I received the message "no licenses are currently available for the specified activation code) .
Additional Notes: Our team manual does not mention anything about offline activation, and we have never done it before. We have been instructed to activate using the license server, so we have not previously used the activation code for this purpose.
I am at a loss for what to do next and would greatly appreciate any advice.
