Running Trados 2014 Express and Trados 2015 Freelance Plus on the same computer

Hi there! I recently bought Trados Studio 2015 Freelance Plus and I am about to install it on my computer where I had Trados 2014 Express already installed. I deactivated the Express license and unistalled Trados 2014 Express and then I read in the installation guide that I could have both 2014 and 2015 running on the same computer. The problem is that I do not own the license for Trados 2014 Express, it was given to me by a client I work for. On the other hand, I do own the Trados 2015 Freelance Plus version. Can I still continue to use both versions on the same computer? Do I really need to keep Trados 2014 Express now that I have Trados 2015 Freelance Plus?

In my opinion, you don't need to keep Studio 2014 Express because Studio 2015 Freelance can do nearly everything your Express edition did. In fact, apart from the restriction to five languages, it can do even more than the Express edition.

This KB article gives you an detailed list of all features covered by each edition, so that you can compare.

The main reason not to keep using the Express version is a licensing one. You are depending on your client granting you a license (the Express edition is meant to be used for temporary assignments on server-based projects), and the risk that you don't get one when you are not currently working on a project for him, whereas the license for your Freelance version is a perpetual one and is under your control.
