Hello team RWS,
I have Studio 2019 (Plus) for 2 devices and need to deactivate the (2nd) instance that I have running under Parallels on my macbook with broken screen. I regained access today to this device using an external monitor, but unfortunately I am getting an error: "Deactivation failed. Could not connect to the activation server. Check the activation server address in the provider settings. The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden."
I logged into my RWS account to try "Deactivate offline" but I am not sure how to deactivate this 2nd installation only without deactivating my first installation on my main Windows system. Both installations have the same activation code.
It also looks like I still have an extra activation available although I am not sure how to interpret the grey and blue information: Users (1, 1*) In Use (1,0*) Available (0,1*). To me it looks like I have only one device activated and still have one activation available. I remember that I received help getting the 2nd activation working on this mac, and I probably can do that again, but I wanted to do the right thing today and deactive this 2nd license...
By now this whole license returning thing is quite annoying. Studio is the only software I use where I have to do this and now I spent 2 hours getting back into my broken mac, only in an effort to return this license and then wipe the device. Windows 10 on my new mac needs to be updated to Windows 11 because of the M3 chip (versus Intel on my old mac) and I prefer to do a clean install instead of using the more pricey solution that Parallels offers for the upgrade.
Can anyone help me with this situation? Is there a way to deactive this 2nd install, or should I just go ahead and wipe my old mac, and request help with activating it on my new device?
Thanks for reading, and have a nice weekend!
Lianne
