I am a freelance translator and owner of SDL Trados Studio 2019 Freelance Plus, which includes two concurrent activations.
I recently changed laptops and deactivated my existing license in order to activate it on my new machine. However, the license portal still shows the license as “in use” and only displays 1 seat instead of the 2 seats included with Freelance Plus.
As a result, I currently have no usable activation, even though my license should allow two concurrent activations.
What I have already tried:
- Online deactivation via my RWS account
- Manual/offline deactivation (Studio.lic rename)
- Offline activation/deactivation workflow as per RWS documentation
Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue. The orphaned activation still appears to be locked on the server side, and the correct seat count is not restored.
Could the licensing team please remove the orphaned activation and restore the correct Freelance Plus seat count so I can activate the license again on my current machine?
