Installation Problem with Trados Studio 2021 SR2 — Windows 11 Version 25H2 (University License)

Hello,

I am experiencing an installation problem with Trados Studio 2021 SR2. I previously replied to another user's thread but was asked to create my own post so the technical team can assist me directly.

Below are my system details and all steps I have already attempted.

System Information

  • Windows version: Windows 11, Version 25H2
  • Trados edition: Trados Studio 2021 SR2
  • License type: University-provided license (exact type unknown)

Steps I Have Already Tried

1. Complete removal of all Trados components

I followed the RWS instructions to ensure that no partial or failed installation files remained.

Actions taken:

  • Opened Settings → Apps → Installed Apps
  • Uninstalled all entries related to:
    • Trados Studio 2021
    • Trados Studio 2021 SR2
    • SDL Trados Studio
    • Any SDL/RWS components (such as Language Cloud)
  • Restarted the computer
  • Manually deleted the remaining folders:
    • C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\TradosStudio2021SR2\
    • C:\ProgramData\SDL\
    • C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\ (when present)

I then attempted installation again. The same failure occurred.

2. Reset of Trados settings

I attempted to reset Trados configuration files following RWS documentation.

However, after enabling hidden items in File Explorer and checking the full path:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\

I confirmed that no SDL or “SDL Trados Studio / Studio16” folder exists on my system.
This indicates that the installation failed before creating any configuration files, so there was nothing to reset.

I proceeded to restart Windows and tried installing again, but the issue persists.

Any assistance or additional troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
