Re-installation

I only have Trados Freelance on my desktop. If I decide to buy a laptop how do I redownload the programme onto the laptop? Do I need to uninstall it first from the desktop? I only have the one licence.

You don't need to uninstall, you simply need to return the license before you activate it on the second PC (laptop). You do this by going to "Help - Product Activation" in your Studio and clicking on "Deactivate". This will return your license so that it is again available (you can check this by going to your customer account, the license will show as "1 available").

On your laptop, simply install Studio (you don't need to redownload, use the same install file you already downloaded) and activate it using the activation code for this license.

In case you want to go back working on your desktop, you simply do the reverse operation (deactivate on the laptop and activate on the desktop).

If you need to work on both machines frequently, you can buy the "Plus" option, which will give you two simultaneous activations and save you the hassle of deactivating/activating.
