Cannot deactivate a license "in use"

Today my computer broke down and I had to reinstall the system. When I reinstalled and opened Trados Studio 2015 Freelance, it said "License Expired". However, as I did not have a chance to deactivate the product, now I cannot activate it with the code I have. Moreover, since I cannot get into the activation wizard and cannot generate the Deactivation Certificate, none of the solutions in your knowledge base works for me. Could you kindly let me know what to do to deactivate the license displayed as "in use" in my account? Thanks so much!

    As you did not get a chance to return your license, you need to ask SDL to reset it for you.

    You can did this by going to the knowledgebase website:  kb.sdl.com

    Then go to the tab called "Solution Finder" and then to:

    "Licensing Problems"

    -  I use SDL Trados Studio 2015 / SDL Passolo 2015

    - I need to have my license reset

    Pick the correct route for you and if appropriate you will be presented with a form that you can fill in to generate a support request and you will be contacted, normally within a day.

    Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form, and make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.
