Studio 2015 licensing linked to network?

I've had 4 (four) failures to activate one or other of my Studio 2015 Freelance Plus licenses since 16 June. I have one installation on my laptop and one on my main desktop machine. These failures are having a major and negative influence on my productivity. I have a deadline for midnight tonight and I'm going travelling on Saturday. I need stability and I'm not getting it.

I notice that this latest failure to activate happened just after I changed the settings on my network adapter and rebooted. My fixed-line broadband access, over the LAN, has been very unreliable recently, so I also have a 4G router that I access over wifi and I switch back and forth every now and again depending on which is working better.

Could the repeated failures to active be linked in some way to my changing network adapters back and forth? It sounds unlikely, but then so are four activation failures in seven days. EDIT: Just to be clear, I am envisaging something like the licensing system using MAC addresses or similar information specific to the adapter to verify the identity of the machine.
