Root element is missing error Multiterm 2017

Question

Hi,
I keep having a Root element is missing error when I try to start Multiterm 2017. I did see this (community.sdl.com/.../4980), but although I deleted some xml files I found in the Multiterm12 folder, I still have the error. I also did reinstall Multiterm, but it still not working...
Any idea of what to do?

Hi Aurore, The Multiterm 12 folder is for Trados 2015. I believe you need to rename/remove the Multiterm 14 folder to so it is recreated again.

The migration plugin has nothing to do with MultiTerm. However, if you renamed this folder and restarted Multiterm and it did not help then I think you may need some assistance from the support team: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14\ 
 
So rename to this for example: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14_original\ 
 
Then restart Studio.

Log the case again. I think you're going to need to have an engineer take a look at this.

Make sure you have the latest version of Studio and Multiterm now: 
 
SDL Trados Studio 2017 - 14.0.5821.4 
SDL MultiTerm 2017 - 14.0.2165.2 
 
It may be that you are out of synch so worth checking.
