Jargon busting

Hi all,

I've been asked if I would like to action a Studio/MultiTerm Jargon Buster resource that I suggested at an advanced users' workshop recently. A glossary with explanations for SDL jargon words/phrases, acronyms, confusing/conflicting terms, etc.

I would welcome any ideas of jargon/terms/acronyms to include, with or without explanations.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Wishing everyone a happy Christmas and a wonderful year 2017,

Ali

  • Hi Ali,

Too late now as I'm going on vacation, but I'm happy to provide a SDL hosted MultiTerm Server termbase, so you can centrally work on the termbase.

    Would that help?

    Thanks,
    Luis

  • Hi Luis,

Back from my Christmas break. That is a good idea but I haven't had any feedback yet. Maybe because of Christmas, but also I perhaps should have posted in the Studio forum or whichever is the most likely to reach the most users?

Also, would the termbase be accessible to anyone on the forums, regardless of what type of license they have?

    Thanks,
    Ali

All the best for a happy and successful year 2017!
  • Hi Luis,

Have been really busy, so haven't even finished compiling the initial glossary list. Ed Flowers needs it in PDF format when I do, which has to be very shortly or I'll miss his deadline. I'm not sure whether an online SDL termbase would work, as this isn't anticipated to be a bilingual glossary, just a list of terms and explanations... unless others wanted to translate the list into multiple languages of course.

I've had very little feedback from others but would be pleased to do something beyond Ed's PDF if it could be useful...

    All the best,
    Ali :)
