I reckon this was either a temporary glitch and you were unlucky or you have a browser issue? But thank you for reporting it.

It could be that my work has banned Dropbox totally for security reasons, and that's why the images don't show up for me.

That seems very likely. We have been using our Enterprise dropbox account as a temporary measure while we rebuild the appstore and the backend tools needed to support developers. We're quite close to releasing an updated platform that doesn't use dropbox anymore, but until then you'll need to download the apps from another computer outside of the domain of your corporate IT controls.
