I am trying to install the pluggins Grammar spell ckeck and the numbers verifier, but both do not install. I have Trados 2017 and win 10, 64 bit.  With the TQA plugin I had just to click on it and it did all the rest. I do the same process with number verifier and the grammar check, and it does nothing, and do not appear in the verifier item.  Can you help me?

  • Hello Francis,

I'm a little confused here.  TQA is a built in feature for Studio so what plugin are you referring to?

On the others did you download the latest version of the plugins from the AppStore?  Perhaps check that first.

If the problem is that the plugin installer is not starting for you then it may be a permissions error so perhaps make sure you installed Studio with admin rights.

If that doesn't help then the problem may be coming from leftover registry keys created from previous installations.  Please use the Registry Editor and go to this key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\SDL\

The Studio 5 folder corresponds to Studio 2017, Studio4 to Studio 2015 and anything below that relates to older installations of SDL Trados Studio.  If you no longer have those versions installed then please delete the leftover registry entries (Studio2, Studio3, etc).  If you do then don't apply this fix.

If nothing here helps then try copying the sdlplugin files to this location and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\Packages\

    Regards

    Paul

  • Hi Paul, many thanks for your help. I was trying to install the Numbers check and the grammar check plugins a long time and it didn't work. I finally discovered the issue: the SO, I don't know why, saved the downloaded plugins as "only for reading". I dismarked this optionin the properties from the downloaded plugin and, voilá! it worked. You have no idea how happy I was. I already read several answers here in the Client Services and nothing worked. I looked the registry keys too. And I have admin rights. So a simple solution. :-) Have a nice day.
  • Good to know this one Francis... I've never come across this particular problem before!
