Hi Paul,
I have a pptx file that was converted from a pdf.
It has one tag between each letter of a word.
How do I remove the tags from the sourced document?
My best wishes,
Daniela

Hi Daniela Mochny ,
The best approach is probably TransTools which you can find here:
appstore.sdl.com/.../
These are a brilliant suite of apps for Office applications that every translator working with these formats should have.
You could also try the CleanupTask app which can clean up the superfluous tags in the SDLXLIFF prior to translation:
multifarious.filkin.com/.../

Hello,
I have the same problem. I've tried TransTools, but tags are still there, and the CleanupTask app is not compatible with my version (SDL Trados 2019). Do you know any other solutions?
By the way, this is my first time on the SDL Community, so I hope this is the right way to ask!
Thank you in advance
Best,
Natalia
Use a better tool for conversion.
It is also possible to remove this tags within the sdlxliff file itself, however this is very tricky, as you need to use regex and be very careful with what you're doing.

Hi Jerzy,
Thanks for your answer. This PowerPoint file was provided by my client, so I can't choose the tool for conversion.
I've now managed to partly solve this issue by changing the settings on the TransTools utility (e.g. using bigger difference thresholds for font properties). However, this broke the formatting for a big part of my project, so I'll have to spend a long time fixing it afterwards.
If you know of any other solutions, please let me know
Thanks!
Best,
Natalia
