Can I use TermExcelerator for Translation from Japanese to English?

Question

I sometimes use TermExcelerator when my termbase takes much time to be recognized by Trados Studio. When translation pair is English to Japanese, TermExcelerator works well. 
 Today I tried to use this app for opposite direction, that is Japanese to English. However excel-formed sheet was not recognized and an error message was displayed. 
 The error message is as follows: 
 Unicode 文字のマッピングがターゲットのマルチバイト コード ページにありません。 (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070459) 
 
 I am afraid this app cannot be used when source language include double byte character... 
 If there is a solution, please teach me.

I'm afraid there is no solution to this problem. If you convert your Excel termbase to MultiTerm you'll most likely have exactly the same issue. The problem is we can't tokenize the language and are unable to identify the terms when the source is any non-tokenized language (JP, ZH, KO for example).

That's great! I didn't have a great experience with this in my tests and concluded it was not going to be very useful in that language direction. 
 
The Excel Term provider uses the Studio API for term recognition and if this doesn't pick up what you need then I don't think it's possible. Perhaps you can provide me with a small sample file and small termbase to test with? By small I mean half a dozen sentences and maybe a dozen terms that should be found in the text.
