SDLXLIFF to Legacy Converter question

Question

I got the SDLXLIFF to Legacy Converter software from Github and built it in Visual Studio. The plug-in seems to be working. I am using SDL Trados 2017. 
 Now I have a client who sent me a translation job in Word and he is hoping to get the job back in bilingual Word format (Trados legacy). I tried exporting the SDLXLIFF file and it does export, but the original formatting is lost. Is there a way to remain the original Word formatting but with bilingual, Trados-legacy text? 
 Maybe I am asking the impossible. But I thought I would ask :-)

 Indeed you are ;-) The only way for this to be successful is if you start with the Trados legacy Bilingual Word file in the first place. So convert to bilingual DOC and then translate that in Studio. You can do this if you use SDL Legit!

Yes it's true. This is because it's an old format, really old, and Workbench won't support the newer DOCX format. SDL Legit! is essentially making the old Workbench assemblies available to you in an interface within Studio.
