Good afternoon Paul
I went back to Deepl and they suggested putting in a double line break to see what happened. Here is the result that I sent to them.
"I have tried entering multiple line breaks with various results, sometimes I get no line breaks and sometimes more than I wanted. In the example below there were multiple breaks in the source. The word between hashtags is missing completely and there are no line breaks.
The response from Deepl is as follows;-
1. It appears that line breaks are not encoded at all when SDL Trados Studio sends them to our API through the DeepL plugin. This is a problem. You can send SDL the screenshot with the double line breaks and show them that the line breaks are not carried over into the translation. This should allow them to fix the issue in the DeepL plugin.
This was part of a longer email as I sent several other issues with screenshots and questions. Deepl tells me that several other issues have already been noted and are being dealt with by SDL and should be fixed in the next release. Hopefully, this is accurate and they are not simply passing the hot potato.
Do you know when the next release will be and if this issue above will also be fixed in the next release?
Many thanks
Louise
Hi Louise Taylor ,
We have added a new version, 2.1, to the appstore:
appstore.sdl.com/.../
The original is still there just in case it's needed because the issue was not as described by DeepL (encoding had nothing to do with it, nor setting the source language) and we have had to undo something we were advised to do before. Please test it and see whether it is working better for you and if not the older version, 1.9, is still available in case you need to go back.
