YAML file translation

Hi everyone,

Could someone help me out with YAML file translation?

My client needs to translate some specific attributes (not sure how it's called in YAML world - "summary:" and "description:", for instance) only. I've done research and found the following 3rd party plugin:
blog.supertext.ch/.../

After installing the plugin, I added some settings on parsing and embedded content using regular expressions. Then I pseudo-translated the file to make sure that the generated target translation contains/does not lack necessary contents for implementation.

However, the generated target translation
  1. lacks linebreak (well, there is, but as "\n" not the actual linebreak)
  2. lacks the "|" right after "description:"
  3. lacks single-byte spaces on each line (spaces seems to be used in referring to tabs on YAML)
  4. contains ""(double-quotation)" at the beginning/end of the attributes

Because there are hundreds of target files and most of the contents are not target attributes, I am trying to hide unnecessary texts on Trados Editor screen. It would be wonderful if we could implement the translated file to the system without any additional work.

It seems that you cannot fully control YAML file with regular expressions, but I cannot think of any alternatives so far.

Has anyone experienced the similar situation?
Thanks for reading!

Best,
Misato
