Skip Reorganise .sdltb step in Glossary Converter?

Does anyone know if it is possible to create an .sdltb in Glossary Converter but have it skip the Reorganise step? When working with very large termbases it chokes at this stage, and I was wondering if omitting this step might work.

I don't actually need to reorganise the .sdltb (I think) because I won't actually be using it in Studio. It is just an intermediate step to import a large termbase into my RyS Termbase and Translation Assembler termbase

Error message in Trados Studio Glossary Converter stating 'Not enough space on temporary disk.' with options to copy to clipboard, save to file, or close.

  • The reorganise is required to build a working termbase. It builds all the indexes and internal structure to look up and even see terms. Without it, your sdltb has 0 terms, even after the import. If you import an xml file into MultiTerm, it also does a reorganise. That's why large imports get stuck at 95% forever, the last 5 are reserved for the reorg. Even though it usually takes much more than 5% of the time. So if there is not enough space in the converter, there may not be enough in MT either.
To go from tab to xml/xdt, go to settings/general, choose xml+xdt as the output format, and tick the "use for any input format" box
