TMX to XLS conversion (keeping some of the TM’s Custom Fields)

Question

Hello, 
 This is probably a very trite subject but here it goes: I have a TM with a number of Custom Fields. I need to generate from it an Excel worksheet that includes not only the source and target segments but also a few of those Custom Fields. (I believe the freeware available for TMX to XLS conversion only keep the source and target segments.) 
 Any suggestion or advice would be greatly appreciated.

What freeware are you using? I tried this using the Glossary Converter and all the custom fields are exported to Excel.

If you want to do this with the Glossary Converter: 
 
1. Export your SDLTM to TMX 
2. Convert the TMX to Excel with the Glossary Converter 
3. Edit the field values etc. in Excel 
4. Convert the Excel back to the TMX with the Glossary Converter 
5. Upgrade the TMX get a new SDLTM 
 
Then this will not work without a little workaround and the reason for this is because a TMX is only an exchange file and it doesn't contain the header information (unless it came from Studio) that is needed to update an SDLTM when imported (not upgraded). So you need to do this: 
 
1. Export your SDLTM to TMX 
2. Convert the TMX to Excel with the Glossary Converter 
3. Edit the field values etc. in Excel 
4. Convert the Excel back to the TMX with the Glossary Converter 
5. Create a new SDLTM on the basis of your original so you have an empty TM with all the fields/attributes set up 
6. Copy the header from the TMX you exported in 1. to the TMX created in 4. 
7. Import the TMX into your new SDLTM 
 
Now it will work.

 It's not. This tool will mostly get you the source and target data. Some of the options, like XML and TMX will include the system fields, but none of them include custom fields.
