Also worth noting that if you have built the new laptop using the same username and folder structure as the old one then the process is very simple indeed.

The migration tool doesn't take these settings anyway. But if your file/folder structure is exactly the same in both machines then you might find that copying this folder across will do what you need:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0\
If the worst comes to the worst you can delete this in the new laptop anyway and Studio will just reset, so nothing will be lost by giving it a go. Most of the settings will be in this folder.
I would add that I am only suggesting this because you are moving computers with the same version of Studio. This would not be a clever thing to do between different versions.
