I'm unable to use the ExcelTerminology plugin in Trados 2019.
I have a very simple test project for de-CH > en-GB, and a spreadsheet with one header row and one term entry. The first column in the spreadsheet is, like the project, 'DE', with the second column being 'EN'.
The first problem arises when I open the window to add a spreadsheet-based termbase: the languages are
Source language: English (United Kingdom)
Target language: German (Germany)
Not only are the languages the wrong way around, it has replaced 'German (Switzerland)' with 'German (Germany)'.
So I manually select the correct languages and set their respective columns. But once I click 'Submit' a little red 'X' appears next to my newly-added termbase in the list of termbases indicating that something is wrong with this set-up, though no explanation is available.
If I click 'Settings' to modify the settings for this termbase, nothing happens. It seems my only option is to remove and re-add the termbase.
I have then tried the same steps but with the columns switched around in the spreadsheet - in the same order as they are first presented to me when selecting the termbase via the plugin, though again with 'German (Germany)' replaced with 'German (Switzerland)'. It now allows me to add this termbase - no red 'X' appears - but when I open a file in the editor no matching terms in the segments are highlighted, and searching yields no results.
I then opened my spreadsheet and added a second row of terms - this time with the same term in the other language. In other words my spreadsheet termbase now looks like this:
EN | DE | Accepted
---------------------------------------------------
Hello world | Hallo Welt | YES
Hallo Welt | Hello world | YES
I then re-opened the project and the file in the editor, but there is still no highlighting of matching terms and the search feature still yields no results.
